How grayscale is calculated

Each pixel is converted with the standard luminance formula — 29.9% red, 58.7% green and 11.4% blue — which matches how the human eye perceives brightness. That gives a far more natural result than simply averaging the three channels.

Partial grayscale

Lowering the strength blends the original colours with the grey version, which is useful for muted, desaturated looks in banners and backgrounds. The image is always processed at its full original resolution, so no detail is lost to resizing.
