Cropping a PDF

Cropping changes the visible page area without touching the page content itself. It is the quickest way to remove thick scanner margins, cut off a header or footer, or fit a slide deck neatly onto a tablet screen.

Tips

  • Percentages are measured from each edge, so 10% left and 10% right keeps the middle 80% of the page.
  • Use “Selected pages” when only scanned pages need trimming.
  • Check the preview: the outline shows exactly what will be kept.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The crop is applied in your browser and the file never leaves your device.

Is the cropped-off content deleted?

Cropping sets a smaller visible page area. Both the crop box and media box are updated, so viewers and printers only show the kept region.

Can I crop each page differently?

Each run applies one crop. To treat pages differently, crop one range, download, then upload the result and crop another range.

Why can't I crop more than 45% from a side?

That limit prevents accidentally removing the entire page. Crop twice if you really need a very small region.
