PNG or JPG?

PNG is lossless, so text and line art stay crisp with no compression artefacts — ideal for screenshots, diagrams, invoices and anything you will edit again. JPG files are much smaller for photographic pages, so use the PDF to JPG tool when file size matters more than perfect edges.

Choosing a resolution

  • Screen: roughly 96 DPI, best for embedding in a web page.
  • Print: roughly 150 DPI, a good default for documents and slides.
  • Maximum: roughly 300 DPI, large files suited to printing or archiving.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The document is rendered to PNG images entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your device.

Why are PNG files larger than JPG?

PNG uses lossless compression, which keeps every pixel exactly as rendered. That gives sharper text but bigger files than JPG.

Can I convert only certain pages?

Yes. Choose “Select specific pages” and click the previews you need.

The maximum resolution fails on a big PDF — why?

Very large pages at 300 DPI can exceed your browser's canvas memory. Convert fewer pages at a time or pick the print resolution.
