Does this crawl my website?
No. A browser cannot crawl another site because of cross-origin rules, so you paste the URLs yourself. That also means nothing is sent to a server.
How many URLs can a sitemap hold?
Up to 50,000 URLs or 50 MB uncompressed. Larger sites split into several sitemaps listed in a sitemap index.
What do changefreq and priority do?
They are hints, not rules. Search engines largely ignore them, so leaving the defaults is fine — the URL list is what matters.
Where do I put the file?
Upload it to your site root as sitemap.xml and reference it from robots.txt, then submit it in Google Search Console.
